We have been concentrating so much on collages lately, it is a treat to work on a Doodleboard. :) Doodleboards are designed to showcase one special piece of art... we offer them in standard sizes (such as construction paper, computer paper, and scrapbook paper sizes) or we can create custom sizes. One of the favorite Doodleboards we have ever created was Elliot's "Pink Dog" -- we love his personality! Elliot is quite the artist; we hope to see more from him in the future. :)

Busy Time!
Big Art Blessings has been chosen for the wonderful task of creating 24 collages to decorate patient rooms in a local hospital; the artwork is all donated from the hospital employees' families and their communities. It has been very different, working with art from lots of mediums, materials, styles, and ages. We are loving the results! Tammy is starting to lay out collages in her sleep. :)

Rain! In Hoover, Alabama.... again! Who would have thought we just came off a record-setting drought?
We wanted to say THANK YOU to the best photographer and technical guru in the area, Mark Wilkins. He has helped us with camera lenses, white balance, and lighting so our digital images of your children's artwork will be of the highest quality. Check out his website, http://www.b3photography.com/index2.php

Big Art Blessings, Memorial Day, 2009
Big Art Blessings is a brand new company started by three friends, Tammy, Donna, and Amanda, who wanted to find a better way to showcase children's artwork. Our artwork has haunted us from the attic, screaming to get out of the Rubbermaid bins and be put on display to entertain everyone. :) Children's artwork has so much character! The personalities of the kids shines right through their creations.
We wanted to start a blog, and thinking Memorial Day would be a great time... little did we know that this day would be TOO memorable for Tammy! It started in the wee hours of the morning with a leaking refrigerator and went quickly downhill. Thankfully we have some wonderful collages lined up to finish; that will provide a much-needed distraction. :)
With this blog, we want to share the fun part of the business, by highlighting some favorites. We will get permission from clients to share their artwork first, so we will start with one of our kids' collages: Tammy's Jacob, with the bonus being if you can guess who the lower right hand portrait depicts:
If you guessed ELVIS PRESLEY, you are right! Check out those sideburns!
This collage has a good bit of preschool-aged art, including some dimensional pieces, which add depth and fun to the finished creation.
Please check out our website, http://www.bigartblessings.com,
for ideas of the products we create from your children's artwork. And check back here often; we will include a rundown of fun projects we are working on!
